The Innkeepers of Turtle Beach Resort have installed a fine art gallery on the resort property. The Gallery features the fine art collection of Innkeeper, Gail Rubinfeld, her identical twin sister, Miri [Marian] Rosenfeld and their father’s work. Rubinfeld graduated from Pratt Institute, NY. Her background includes fashion design in New York, real estate, interior design and has been an Innkeeper along with her husband David of Turtle Beach Resort for the past 20 years. She exhibits regularly in group shows most recently at Festival sART’ee, Arts to You, Artinsight and her work is currently in a solo show in Sarasota. Her work encompasses abstract collage, oil painting portraits, figures and landscapes. “I create paintings that capture a moment in time, a psyhcological portrait of a figure or face that strips the person down to its essence. There is a spiritual connection in capturing the image with immediacy and drawn lines. I transform and manipulate this quiet moment onto canvas with paint, print, and collage to form new images, either colorful or monochromatic, often working in multiples; a reflection of being born a twin, channeling my twin’s artistry.” –Gail Rubinfeld.
In memory of her twin sister, Rubinfeld donates a percentage of her artwork sales to “Ma‘agan, a drop-in care centre supporting those affected by cancer by offering art, music and dance classes to survivors in Jerusalem. Rubinfeld’s artwork has helped create a permanent home for “Ma’agan” where Miri’s art work is on display.
