We get it. You work hard. You deserve a vacation. And traveling solo is just another way to experience this beautiful world and what it has to offer! That’s why we’ve put together a little island-style solo vacay guide, for the next time Turtle Beach Resort is calling your name…
1.Take a kayak tour of the mangroves.
Our resort amenities include complimentary kayak rentals, for those adventurous spirits who enjoy exploring by boat! And when you feel the call to go forth but would also like an expert’s opinion, the island is full of local tour guides who will take you through our most beautiful Florida mangroves! And we guarantee, there isn’t anything quite as magical and ethereal as a mangrove tour by night.
2. Relax in the hot tub with a private view.
I mean…Need we say more? (Every private villa comes with its very own hot tub. Pretty sweet, right?)
3. Explore the Siesta Key Village!
The complimentary Siesta Key Trolley stops right outside our doors and will take you from one end of the island to the other, for free! Just a short jaunt from our resort, the Siesta Key Village is known for its friendly and happening nightlife, with several tiki bars offering live music throughout the week and weekend. The Village itself is charming and walkable, the locals are friendly and full of local knowledge, and the tourists are just happy to be somewhere warm! When you’re ready to head back for some “me time,” just hop onto the trolley and call it a night.
4. Lose track of time on our nearly-private beach.
Turtle Beach Resort is just steps from, well, Turtle Beach! Much more private and low key than its popular cousin, Siesta Beach, you can go fully incognito here on Turtle Beach with a bucket hat, a good book, an umbrella, and one of those low-slung chairs that lets you dig your feet into the soft, warm sand…
5. Explore the award-winning Sarasota Farmer’s Market!
Not far from the North bridge on the mainland side, you’ll find the tropical metropolis that is downtown Sarasota. Every Saturday morning from 7:30am until 1pm, a sprawling market, touted from coast-to-coast, unfurls itself along the length of the aptly appointed Lemon Avenue. There you will find artisanal breads and pantry goods, mouth watering delicacies, gourmet coffee, locally made crafts, organic veggies, and the list goes on and on. If you can, arrive early, as the crowds (though jolly) get pretty bustling around lunchtime!
And as always, our friendly and knowledgable front desk staff is here to offer tips and suggestions to help make your solo vacation dreams come true!
